Product Description
Kovar Alloy Sheet is an iron-cobalt-nickel alloy with a thermal expansion coefficient similar to that of hard glass. Because the Kowa alloys are tough and versatile, extensive quality control is applied in the manufacture of UNS K94610 alloys to ensure consistent physical and mechanical properties, thus making stretching, stamping, and machining easier. Moreover, Kovar has the most dynamic mechanical properties.
The expansion alloy Kovar is precisely formulated and controlled, with its thermal expansion coefficient very close to that of hard glass or ceramics, meaning that it expands and contracts at similar rates. Therefore, it is well-suited for applications used in combination with glass or ceramic materials, especially for applications that must keep airtight seals over a wide temperature range.
